HIV Prevention, PrEP and Care Coordination
PrEP services provide confidential, individualized support for people seeking medication to reduce their risk of acquiring HIV.
The initial visit includes a review of medical history, current medications, sexual health, previous HIV prevention care, potential risk factors, and the laboratory testing needed before treatment.
PrEP care may include:
PrEP Evaluation
Assessment of whether PrEP is medically appropriate for you.
Medication Management
Prescription and ongoing management of PrEP medication when appropriate.
Laboratory Coordination
Coordination of required baseline and follow-up laboratory testing.
Adherence Support
Education and practical support for taking medication consistently.
HIV and STI Screening
Coordination of routine HIV and sexually transmitted infection screening.
Care Coordination
Referral for additional sexual health or infectious disease services when needed.
Testing and Follow-Up
HIV testing and other laboratory monitoring are required before and during PrEP treatment. Prescriptions may be delayed or withheld when required testing has not been completed.
A recent potential HIV exposure may require urgent evaluation for post-exposure treatment rather than routine PrEP initiation.
Care is provided in a private, respectful environment without assumptions about identity, relationships, or sexual practices.
